Short Version of Annapurna Base camp is known as the Amphitheater of the Annapurna Sanctuary for a good reason. At 4130m, it is surrounded by the Annapurna range that includes Annapurna South, Annapurna I, II, III, IV, Mt. Gangapurna and Mt. Virgin Fishtail (Machhapuchchhre). Your trek starts with a walk from Nayapool through the destination Birethanti, New Bridge, passed by the bank of Modi River, a magical experience awaits you at the Chhomrong Gurung village, overlooking the dazzling Annapurna South face.

The trail then takes you through narrow alleys of Bamboo forest, past the Hinku Cave along the corner of the towering Machhapuchhere and Hiun Chuli, and as the ground below you turn to snow, the Machhapuchhere Base camp (MBC) welcomes you. The way further through the frozen landscape of snow and rock leads you to the very bosom of the Annapurna Sanctuary amidst the most unbelievably beautiful, colossal sculptures of nature. The experience of encountering such beauty can be very spiritual and humbling.

On the way back you stop at a natural hot spring. A good long soak in the spring water of Jhinu Hills washes away the fatigue before ending the journey at Phedi/ Nayapool. Through the different hills, cultures, cuisines, people and unique experiences every time, this route is guaranteed to remain etched in your mind forever.

Annapurna Base Camp Trek also know as inner Amphitheater is a beautiful and spiritual journey. Hiking through high peaks, forests and hot springs and narrow alleys of a Bamboo forest. Passing the Hinku Cave along the corner of the towering Machhapuchhere and Hiunchuli. To sum up, the trek is truly inspiring and memorable Adventure in Annapurna Region.

A Morning at 8am, A short flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara. Flight along the way, you will be greeted with beautiful views of many prominent mountain peaks like Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, Machhapuchhre and the many mountain peaks of the Annapurna massif. Pokhara is a famous tourist hub of Nepal. It is well-deserving if its popularity because it is a beautiful city located right beside the pristine serenity Phewa Lake. The lake is also popular for reflecting the sight of the Machhapuchhre Mountain on its surface. From Pokhara, we will then drive to Traditional Village in Ghandruk. Via Nayapool. It is a unique traditional village in the entire of Annapurna region trek. upon arriving, we will utilize the rest of the time for sight explore the heart of Ghandruk Village culture and tradition. Today, we will make our way from Ghandruk to the village of Sinuwa. We will first go up for an hour along the trail to reach Kimrung Hill. After that, we will follow the descending trail towards the Kimron Khola. We have an easy walk for an hour; we will then follow the rising terrain once more to reach the Chhomrong village. While ascending, we will walk upon the striking peak of the Annapurna South over the community and the sight of the Fishtail Mountain seen from there is quite captivating. Chhomrong is a striking village embraced by giant Annapurna Himalayas. From Chhomrong, the trail descends until the Chhomrong Khola. Then we will begin a slow climb as we head up to our destination for the day at Sinuwa. Overnight stay at the guesthouse at Sinuwa.

From Sinuwa, first, we walk through Kuldi Ghar(A place where used to be camping while guest house not available) It is about two and a half hours walking distance away. Further on, from where the route goes very steeply down to the bank of modi river rocks and levels out. We will then hike through thickets of bamboo at the bottom of the Modi River gorge, keeping always on the west side of the river. We will pass by the place of Bamboo and Dovan, The track then continues to climb to the place of Himalayas though crossing small worship Baraha Temple along the trail. After then, the trail gradually ascends Towards Deurali by walking step up the rocky trail. On the way, we have inspired of oldest Hinko Cave, the place mostly used for resting and domestic porter often stay overnight there while they carry out the goods load along the way to Base Camp. Overnight stay at the guesthouse at Deurali.

Today, we will begin flat trail along the icy glacier Modi river bank on the northern side of Mount Fishtail, then gradually ascend to the Machhapuchhre Base Camp along the way towards the base camp of Annapurna. This area is also called the Annapurna Sanctuary since it is totally surrounded by mountains and is under protection. From here, further couple hour trek to Annapurna Base Camp, which offers spectacular views of the Surround Mountains and the sight of scenery natural high pasture flora and faunas. We will follow the same trail down towards Bamboo. The trail drops by 1,700 meters to the banks of the Modi Khola. Bamboo is situated at an altitude of 2,345 meters, where there are a few teahouse/lodges available to stay at. Overnight stay at the guesthouse at Bamboo.

Today, we will follow the same trail until Chhomrong. From the village, the trail then descends very steeply to the Jhinu hot spring, where you can bathe in the natural hot spring. Jhinu is said to have natural properties of healing due to the minerals in the naturally sprouting water. It is said to soothe the nerves and aching muscles. Overnight stay at the guesthouse at Jhinu.

From Jhinu, we will walk along the right side of the Modi Khola to Siwai. The place where we take off-road jeep drive back to Pokhara. And the same day we drop to Domestic Airport flew to Kathmandu. Transfer in Hotel. Stay overnight at Hotel. Meals: Breakfast and Lunch included.

Approximately 3 hours before the scheduled flight, a representative from Step By Step will take you to the airport from where you will take your flight back.

Below is a list of suggested clothing and equipment items to bring:

  • Warm jacket – down jacket, if possible.
  • Water and windproof jacket (alternatively bring a poncho or umbrella)

  • Hat, pair of gloves and scarf
  • Comfortable hiking trousers (loose-fitting
  • Shorts and trousers, or a skirt
  • 2 pairs of warm wool-blend socks
  • 2 pairs of running socks or liner socks
  • Proper hiking boots

  • 2-3 t-shirts

  • The outer jacket should be warm, down jacket is highly recommended during the winter season
