On the following day, Visit the jaw-dropping “Tiger Monastery” and explore their memorial. Visit another part of Chorten, a Nunnery temple, folk heritage museum, and drive to Punakha to visit the majestic Punakha  Dzong. The grand Dzongs, primeval temples, stupas, and monasteries dotting the countryside. Visit Bhutan and be a part of the world which still resides in simplicity and sheer natural glory. We will enjoy a short stay in Kathmandu, before flying to the “kingdom of dragons”. In Bhutan, we will visit many of the world-renowned monasteries and see some of the most pristine countrysides Asia has to offer.

As our flight nears Bhutan, we can enjoy amazing views of the Himalayas including the sacred Jumolhari and Jichu Drake peaks. At the airport, we will be greeted by our representative who will take us to our hotel. Today, we will visit Rinpung Dzong which was built in 1646 and now houses the district Monastic Body and government administrative offices of Paro Dzongkhag. We will also visit Kichu Lhakhang, the oldest temple in the country and Drugyal Dzong, built-in 1646 to commemorate Bhutan's victory over Tibetan invaders during the 1600s. Overnight in Paro.

After breakfast, we hike for 3-4 hours to Taktsang (Tiger's Nest) Monastery, which is Bhutan's most famous monastery situated at 3,180 meters. Guru Rinpoche (spiritual master) is said to have flown on the back of a tigress to meditate in a cave where Taktsang Monastery now stands. Lunch will be served in the Cafeteria Restaurant, located about halfway up the mountain. After having explored the monastery, we hike down to the valley floor. This afternoon, we will drive to Thimphu, and spend the night.

In the morning, we visit Memorial Chorten (built-in memory of the third King of Bhutan who reigned from 1952-1972), nunnery temple, mini zoo to see Takin, the national animal of Bhutan. Today, we also visit other landmarks of Thimphu including the National Institute of Traditional Medicine, Bhutanese traditional painting school, folk heritage museum, the majestic Tashichho Dzong and the traditional paper factory. However, some of the landmarks are closed on the weekends (Saturdays and Sundays). Therefore, if we are in Thimphu during the weekends, we explore the Weekend Market instead. Overnight in Thimphu.

Today we bid farewell to the tiny Himalayan Kingdom and her friendly people. After early breakfast, we leave Thimpu for Paro airport which will take us around 1 hour. Druk Air generally departs in the early morning to avoid adverse weather conditions. Therefore, after taking breakfast, we will be taken to the airport in the morning for a final departure.

  • Pickups and drops from hotels and airports
  • Government-approved A and B category hotels on a twin- shared basis

  • Transportation in a comfortable private vehicle(s)

  • Airfare for international flights to and from Bhutan
  • Items of a personal nature (personal gear, telephone calls, beverages, internet, laundry, etc.)
  • Trip cancellation and medical/evacuation insurance
  • Tips for staff (guide and driver)
  • Travel insurance

  • Warm jacket – down jacket, if possible.
  • Water and windproof jacket (alternatively bring a poncho or umbrella)
  • Long sleeved synthetic fleece (windproof material, if possible)
  • Thermal underwear
  • Hat, pair of gloves and scarf
  • Comfortable hiking trousers (loose fitting
  • Shorts and trousers, or skirt
  • 2 pairs of warm wool-blend socks
  • 2 pairs of running socks or liner socks
  • Proper hiking boots
  • Running shoes and flip-flops
  • 2-3 t-shirts

  • The outer jacket should be warm, down jacket is highly recommended during winter season
  • Bring a pair of warm winter trousers, in addition to the hiking trousers
  • Bring at least one windproof layer of clothes, helping to reduce any chill factor influence.

    • Pair of polarizing sun-glasses (to be comfortable and to avoid potential snow-blindness)
    • Backpack 70-75ltr for Carrying porter during the trek with cover
    • Day backpack for self carry 40-45ltr with cover
    • Head torch, or small torch, plus spare batteries
    • Sleeping bag and silk liner(4 season)
    • 2 x water bottles or camel bag  but avoid cheap ones that can burst inside your backpack
